Ultra Low Emissions Zones in the UK
In April 2019, the UK’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone was introduced in London. So, what exactly is a ULEZ? The ULEZ is a defined area in which all vehicles must meet strict emissions criteria or pay a charge per day to travel – a fee of £12.50. This charge is added to London’s existing congestion charge – meaning you’ll pay a whopping £24 per day to drive a polluting vehicle into the Capital. Charges are in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The ULEZ charge is based on emissions of the car or van in question, rather than the age. The minimum standards required for vans are Petrol Euro 4 and Diesel Euro 6. It’s worth noting that small vans up to and including 1.205 tonnes are exempt from the ULEZ charge.
The good news is all van manufacturers now only sell vehicles that are within the emission criteria – so by leasing a brand new vehicle from Van Ninja, you can be sure your vehicle meets the emissions standards needed – good news for both the planet and your wallet!
Our new vehicles are exempt from ULEZ charges.
