Vauxhall Reveal the Movano-e to Complete Their Electric Range

Vauxhall Movano-e

Vauxhall have revealed the first images and details of the new Movano-e. The latest version of the Movano is Vauxhall’s first large van that is fully electric with zero emissions.

With the release of this van, Vauxhall can now provide zero emissions electric vehicles across their entire range. This puts them in the enviable position of being able to be the sole vehicle supplier for a fleet with a range of vehicle requirements.

The new Movano will also be available as a diesel van, and both versions should be available to order in the UK later in the year. It’s worth mentioning here that the ongoing semiconductor shortage that has led to factory shutdowns may have an effect on the delivery date of any order placed. Once production is back to normal, the Movano will be available to buy, rent, or as a large van lease.

Variations

The new Movano-e will be available in four wheelbase lengths (L1, L2, L3, and L4) and three different heights (H1, H2, and H3), which will provide load volumes form 8.0 to 17 cubic metres. Maximum payload is a very impressive 2,100kg, making it one of the largest electric vans on the market.

Rear doors can be opened 270 degrees for clear and unrestricted access, with up to 2.03m of loading height in the H3 variant.

A crew cab variant adds a second row of four seats, taking the total to seven.

Vauxhall are also releasing a chassis cab variant for custom bodies, in both single and double cab builds. Vauxhall have worked hard to make the new Movano-e as versatile as possible, and they believe it is the perfect base for conversions such as tippers and dropside loaders.

Technology

The Vauxhall Movano-e is fully integrated with VauxhallConnect and the MyVauxhall app which, among other things, can identify nearby charging stations and provide information on current charge status.

Some of the safety features available on various trim levels include forward collision alert, blind spot warning, lane departure warning and hill descent control.

Paul Wilcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said:

“I’m delighted to announce the addition of All-New Movano and Movano-e to Vauxhall’s award-winning LCV range. Large van customers are some of the most demanding in the business, but with its class-leading loading space, low running costs and wide range of body options, All-New Movano is more than up to the challenge of even the most demanding businesses and fleets.

“Crucially, with the introduction of All-New Movano-e, Vauxhall is now one of very few brands offering an electric variant across its entire LCV range, giving buyers the choice to go fully electric to suit the needs of their business and benefit from the environmental, ownership cost and user experience benefits they offer. As a brand, Vauxhall is committed to offer an electrified variant across its entire car and van range by 2024.”
