Contract Hire

Contract Hire has grown in popularity over recent years, with many finance companies recommending this option to smaller businesses.

A Contract Hire agreement allows you to drive a brand new van without worrying about the vehicle losing value over time. As you will not own the van, you can return the vehicle to the finance company at the end of the lease instead of having to sell it later. This means the rental payments only need to cover the difference between the new price and the valuation of the vehicle at the end of the lease, plus interest costs.

With Business Contract Hire, you can usually claim VAT back on the monthly payments, making this a great option for limited companies.

When entering into any financial agreement, you need to be sure to have all the information at hand. Here at Van Ninja, we offer an honest and reliable service – so we’ve pulled some information together to help you make an informed choice.

    Business Contract Hire

  • What is a contract hire agreement?

Under this type of contract or agreement, your business has a specific vehicle for a set period of time at an agreed monthly fee. At the end of the agreement, the vehicle is returned (to the finance provider) and you don’t own the vehicle.

  • What are the benefits of a contract hire?

Your agreement and monthly price is based on the estimated mileage and your desired contract length. These choices can help you select a vehicle which matches your budget.

Your vehicle will be yours to drive during your entire agreement and payments are fixed at the outset so you can be reassured that costs will never go up. You don’t need to worry about vehicle depreciation as you will hand it back to the finance provider at the end of your deal.

  • What are the disadvantages?

You won’t own the vehicle and there will be no option to purchase it further down the line. It’s your responsibility to look after vehicles and you could be charged at the end for any damage.

  • What do I need to provide to take out a contract hire?

You need to provide proof of address and contact details and business information (including company name and registration numbers) along with bank information.

  • Are there any mileage limits?

Yes, we currently offer a range of annual mileage allowances up to 50,000 miles per annum.

  • How can I ask any questions?

If you have any questions related to finance or a Contract Hire Agreement please give us a call. Our experts are happy to talk you through the details of your agreement so you can decide if it’s the right option for you.

    *Business customers only.

    Financial

  • Do I need to be VAT registered to contract hire a van?

No. Business Contract Hire is available whether you are VAT registered or not.

  • Will I need to have a credit check?

Yes. The finance companies we work with will need to carry out a credit check before approving you for a finance lease agreement.

  • How long does the credit check take?

Once we receive all your information, your credit check will take around 48 to 72 hours to complete.

  • What information do you need?

The information we require will be different depending on whether you are a sole trader, partnership, or limited company. We will request this information when you have accepted a leasing quote from us and are prepared to move to the next stage.

  • What do I do if I have a bad credit rating?

We can still find you a finance company if you have a bad credit history. While we can’t guarantee that everyone will be approved for finance, we work with a range of different lenders and we will do everything we can to help you contract hire a vehicle.

  • Which finance company do you use?

Van Ninja work with many different finance companies, which allows us to compare a range of different offers to find the best deal for you.

    Van Delivery

  • Do I have to pay for delivery?

No. Delivery is carried out by qualified drivers to anywhere in the UK at no cost to you.

  • Who supplies my van?

If your vehicle is a stock order, it will be supplied by one of the dealerships we have partnered with. It will be a brand new van with delivery mileage only.

If your vehicle is a factory order, it will ship straight from the assembly line to your delivery address.

  • How long will it take to get my van?

For stock orders, we can deliver your van within 2 to 3 weeks once your finance application has been approved.

For factory orders, it can take between 6 to 12 weeks, so you should bear this timescale in mind when applying.

  • Are there any risks to leasing a van online?

No. Making such a big purchase online can make some customers a little nervous, and we fully understand this.

Van Ninja are part of Dawsongroup, one of the largest van rental and leasing companies in the UK. We have an excellent pedigree, and we work hard to give our customers the best deal we can find.

Our staff will work with you through every step of the process, keeping in touch over the phone and by email, from your initial enquiry to the day you receive your new van, and beyond.

  • Can I use my private number plate on my van?

Yes, you can. There may be a small administration fee from the finance company to set this up. Speak to us for more information.

  • Can I customise the van?

Yes, though we recommend you contact us or the finance company first before carrying out any modifications. Please be aware that the vehicle must be returned to the state it was received in, otherwise there may be charges applied.
