New Nissan Interstar Available for Pre-Orders

Nissan have opened their orderbooks for the brand new Interstar light commercial vehicle.

The Interstar is the largest LCV in Nissan’s line, and the new version comes with a wide range of safety technologies and convenience features.

The new Nissan Interstar is available in in two trim levels, Acenta and Tekna. The Acenta is the entry-level variant, keeping the feature-set low to suit a lower price point, while the Tekna comes with much more kit. Features such as automatic air-conditioning, a heated windscreen, parking sensors and rear-view camera, and more separate the Tekna from the Acenta.

Two length and two height options are available, and while many large vans have a wider range of sizes, the Interstar capably covers the most popular and common of the large van specifications.

The van has the option to be fitted as a DCIV with an additional row of seats, and a chassis cab will also be available, with conversions such as tippers, dropsides and Lutons possible.

Engine power outputs range from 105PS to 170PS, from a 2.0litre turbo diesel engine that tests with a WLTP fuel consumption figure of up to 37.8mpg. Payload capacity is almost two tonnes, and towing capacity is 2500kg.

Nissan are promoting the new revamped interior that is designed to offer “car-like comfort and convenience”, with features like a 10” touchscreen, improved dash layout, and an array of storage areas.

Safety is also high on the list for Nissan, with a wide range of standard safety features that include Forward Emergency Braking, Drowsiness Warning, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Emergency braking is improved over previous versions, with a much-reduced reaction time from the system.

Additional features include Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Speed Assist, and Side Wind Assist.

The Nissan press release finishes with the following: As Nissan continues to power forward to a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world – including fully electrifying our LCV lineup from 2026 – all-new Interstar represents a crucial step on our journey, as we revamp an iconic LCV to suit the needs of the UK’s everyday heroes.

A battery electric version, the Interstar-e, is expected to be available later in the year.
