The brand new Citroen e-Relay has launched in the UK, and can be seen in showrooms now. First deliveries are expected in September, to time with the new 71 registration plate change.
Payload is up to 1,150kg, and the panel van versions range from L2 (5.4m) to L4 (6.3m), which compares favourably to other large electric vans.
Power is provided by one of two battery pack options. The L2 panel van is fitted with a 37kWh battery connected to a 90kW (120hp) electric motor, while all other versions come with the larger 70kWh battery pack with the same 90kW motor. This smaller battery provides a WLTP certified range of 73 miles, with the 70kWh battery increasing that to 139 miles.
As with all fully electric vans, the e-Relay has zero tailpipe emissions and is therefore exempt from ULEZ and Clean Air Zone charges.
Charging should be straightforward, with a Type-2 charging cable providing a full charge in six and 12 hours respectively, for the 37kWh and 70kWh versions. Both batteries also support 50kW rapid charging.
